The DARUMA is a dobari-style shinai, designed with its balance point closer to the hands, making it easier to control and swing smoothly.
The thicker grip and slightly slimmer tip provide quick handling and a responsive feel — ideal for both keiko (practice) and shiai (matches).
Each shinai comes with an official “SSP” seal, approved by the All Japan Kendo Federation, ensuring it meets official competition standards.
The name DARUMA達磨 comes from the Daruma doll, a Japanese symbol of perseverance and good luck—representing determination in every strike.

・Standard Shinai
Neutral balance. The most common type, suitable for all levels.
・Dobari Shinai
Weight near the handle. Best for quick, fast strikes and competition.
・Koto Shinai
Weight is distributed across the whole shinai, centering toward the middle. Favored by experienced players for powerful, solid impact.

●Care & Maintenance
・Store in a shinai case, away from moisture and direct sunlight.
・We recommend using both a shinai bag and the protective plastic cover provided at purchase.
・A tsuba (guard) and tsuba-dome (rubber stopper) are required for practice (sold separately).
・Check your shinai frequently during practice for splinters or cracks. Replace immediately if damage is found.
・Long-term storage may cause bamboo to dry, discolor, or become brittle. Avoid using an aged shinai.
・Over time, bamboo may dry out and slightly lose weight.
・The nakayui (leather tie) and tsuru (string) may loosen with use. Regular maintenance is recommended.

・Each kendo equipment and uniform brand follows its own design standards, so slight differences may exist even with the same size specifications.
・Product color and texture may appear slightly different depending on your device and viewing environment.
