●Product Description
The ITTOSAI Kotō Style Shinai is designed with a well-balanced overall shape.
While it is a kotō-style (straight) shinai, it has a slightly broader body section, making it closer to a standard type.
This shinai allows you to experience the distinctive striking feel of keichiku bamboo combined with the excellent balance of a straight-style shinai.
The bamboo nodes are carefully shaved down, giving it a sleek and beautiful silhouette.
*Please make sure to attach a tsuba (guard) before using the shinai for actual kendo practice.

Size 38: 117 cm – Men: approx. 480 g | Women: approx. 420–440 g
Size 39: 120 cm – Men: approx. 510 g | Women: approx. 440 g
(Weights are approximate and may vary due to natural bamboo. Please note: 38-size women’s approx. 420 g is for high school girls’ division in Japan and cannot be used in general adult women’s competitions.)
●Care & Maintenance
・Store in a shinai case, away from moisture and direct sunlight.
・We recommend using both a shinai bag and the protective plastic cover provided at purchase.
・A tsuba (guard) and tsuba-dome (rubber stopper) are required for practice (sold separately).
・Check your shinai frequently during practice for splinters or cracks. Replace immediately if damage is found.
・Long-term storage may cause bamboo to dry, discolor, or become brittle. Avoid using an aged shinai.
・Over time, bamboo may dry out and slightly lose weight.
・The nakayui (leather tie) and tsuru (string) may loosen with use. Regular maintenance is recommended.

・Each kendo equipment and uniform brand follows its own design standards, so slight differences may exist even with the same size specifications.
・Product color and texture may appear slightly different depending on your device and viewing environment.
