●Product Description
This is a standard-type shinai with one major feature: a thick grip.
In its bare bamboo state, the left-hand grip measures approximately 26 mm for Size 38 and approximately 27 mm for Size 39. When the handle leather (Tsukagawa) is attached, it becomes about 1–2 mm thicker.

Benefits of a Thick Grip:
Because the grip surface is wider, the pressure on your palm and fingers is distributed more evenly, which helps reduce fatigue. The stable grip also contributes to more accurate and consistent strikes.
However, please note that those with smaller hands may find it harder to grip and might feel the shinai is slightly heavier.

This shinai is made from Keichiku bamboo, known for its strength and durability. Keichiku bamboo has thinner slats, which allows for excellent flexibility and snap when striking. This makes it particularly suitable for continuous striking practice, as it takes advantage of the natural rebound of the bamboo.

●Care & Maintenance
・Store in a shinai case, away from moisture and direct sunlight.
・We recommend using both a shinai bag and the protective plastic cover provided at purchase.
・A tsuba (guard) and tsuba-dome (rubber stopper) are required for practice (sold separately).
・Check your shinai frequently during practice for splinters or cracks. Replace immediately if damage is found.
・Long-term storage may cause bamboo to dry, discolor, or become brittle. Avoid using an aged shinai.
・Over time, bamboo may dry out and slightly lose weight.
・The nakayui (leather tie) and tsuru (string) may loosen with use. Regular maintenance is recommended.
