●Product Description
The SEIBU shinai is one of the most popular standard-type shinais, thanks to its well-balanced design, material selection, and ideal weight distribution.
Its center of gravity is closer to the hands, making it easy to swing and control, while still maintaining enough weight toward the tip to generate striking power. This makes SEIBU a versatile, well-balanced shinai suitable for a wide range of practitioners.
Crafted from Keichiku bamboo, known for its strength and durability, this shinai features thin slats that provide natural flexibility. This allows the bamboo to bend and snap back upon impact, making continuous strikes feel smooth and efficient.
Recommended for practitioners aiming to step up their kendo performance, whether in keiko (practice) or shiai (competition).
●Care & Maintenance
・Store in a shinai case, away from moisture and direct sunlight.
・We recommend using both a shinai bag and the protective plastic cover provided at purchase.
・A tsuba (guard) and tsuba-dome (rubber stopper) are required for practice (sold separately).
・Check your shinai frequently during practice for splinters or cracks. Replace immediately if damage is found.
・Long-term storage may cause bamboo to dry, discolor, or become brittle. Avoid using an aged shinai.
・Over time, bamboo may dry out and slightly lose weight.
・The nakayui (leather tie) and tsuru (string) may loosen with use. Regular maintenance is recommended.
