● Description
The Kendo Shinai NAMI (Wave) Oval Grip Standard Type is ideal for regular practice.
Its most distinctive feature is the oval-shaped grip, designed to resemble a real sword or bokuto, helping you to hold the shinai in the correct position — particularly recommended for beginners.
The Keichiku bamboo provides a flexible feel with excellent snap on impact.
The handle leather is finished in a refined Gin-style texture, giving the shinai a clean, elegant appearance.
Each shinai comes with the official “SSP” seal, certifying that it meets the All Japan Kendo Federation standards.
“NAMI” means “Wave” in Japanese.

(Weights are approximate and may vary due to natural bamboo. Please note: 38-size women’s approx. 420 g is for high school girls’ division in Japan and cannot be used in general adult women’s competitions.)
●Care & Maintenance
・Store in a shinai case, away from moisture and direct sunlight.
・We recommend using both a shinai bag and the protective plastic cover provided at purchase.
・A tsuba (guard) and tsuba-dome (rubber stopper) are required for practice (sold separately).
・Check your shinai frequently during practice for splinters or cracks. Replace immediately if damage is found.
・Long-term storage may cause bamboo to dry, discolor, or become brittle. Avoid using an aged shinai.
・Over time, bamboo may dry out and slightly lose weight.
・The nakayui (leather tie) and tsuru (string) may loosen with use. Regular maintenance is recommended.

・Each kendo equipment and uniform brand follows its own design standards, so slight differences may exist even with the same size specifications.
・Product color and texture may appear slightly different depending on your device and viewing environment.
