Ideal for both training and matches – suitable for children to adults.
*The Kendo Bogu Set will be shipped within 7 to 10 business days.
Key Features:
1. Designed for Flexibility & Durability
This Kendo Bogu is crafted with a 6mm stitch width – longer than our conventional models – resulting in softer Men-dare (shoulder flaps) and enhanced flexibility. The padding core features a triple-layer structure that cushions impact and improves resilience.
2. Superior Shock Absorption
Kote padding is adjusted differently for left and right sides, with the right glove featuring extra cushioning to better absorb strikes during practice or competition.
●MEN (Helmet):
・Soft and thick padding for comfortable fit and protection.
・Top stitching: 6mm straight-line machine stitch.
・Lower Men-dare stitching: 3mm width – known as “Gunome-zashi” style, which helps maintain shape while protecting the head and shoulders.
・Lightweight Duralumin Mengane (grill).
・Interior is lined with Shirurido fabric – smooth and comfortable against the skin.
●KOTE (Gloves):
・Durable Orizashi cotton fabric.
・Kote-gashira (fist area) decorated with “armor-style” stitching inspired by samurai aesthetics. This allows fingers to move easily and grip the shinai more naturally.
・The right Kote is made thicker for impact absorption.
・Palm uses high-quality synthetic leather for enhanced grip and durability.
・Cushioning is carefully balanced to avoid excessive pressure when gripping.
●Do (Chest Protector)
・Standard black resin body.
・The Mune (chest area) features the “Hongumo S-shaped” decorative pattern, a classic and bold design.
・While traditional high-end Do use lacquered bamboo, over 90% of modern Do now use resilient resin materials.
・The cloud motif (Kumo-gazari) is not only found on the Do but is also used on Men, Kote, and Tare for a unified and custom appearance.
●TARE (Waist Protector):
・Vertical stitching with bold 6mm spacing adds presence and shock absorption.
・Features “Gaku-zashi” (square-pattern stitching) at the center of the front and back flaps, common in Eastern Japan styles (e.g., Tokyo and Kanto regions).
Gaku-zashi: 6mm center stitching with 3mm around the edges – offering both aesthetics and structure.

Maintenance Tips
①Dry Properly:
After use, shape the Men and Kote, then air-dry them in a well-ventilated, shaded area. Prolonged exposure to direct sunlight can cause fading and material degradation.
②Avoid Folding Men Flaps:
Let the Men-dare (ear flaps) hang naturally or store them properly to maintain their shape.
③Maintain Kote Shape:
Smooth out the wrinkles in the Tenouchi and reshape the Kote to maintain its original form.
④Wipe Sweat and Oils:
Clean the inner Men padding, especially around the chin area, where sweat accumulates.
If salt or sweat residue appears white on the surface, gently mist with water or wipe with a damp cloth. Avoid rubbing too hard, especially on indigo-dyed areas, as it can cause discoloration.
⑤Soften the Kote Head:
Over time, sweat can harden the glove. Before use, gently knead the Kote to restore softness for a better fit.
●Notes
・Each Kendo equipment brand manufactures its products based on its own unique design philosophy and standards. As a result, even if the size specifications are the same, there may be slight differences in details such as the thickness of the men-shin (helmet padding), the shape of the do (chest protector), or the length of the kote (gloves).
・The Orizashi fabric used in this set is dyed overseas. While it offers a beautiful shade of indigo, please note that there may be subtle differences in tone and texture compared to high-end Japanese-made fabrics.
・Indigo-dyed fabrics may initially transfer color to the skin or clothing. This will gradually fade with continued use.
・The outer fabric is made from 100% cotton and is similar to the thick material used for kendogi (Kendo uniforms). Two main fabric types are commonly used in Kendo armor:
Orizashi: A woven-textured cotton fabric.
Kon-tan: A smoother, tighter-woven fabric, typically used for hakama.
・Due to differences in devices and viewing environments, the color and texture of the product may appear slightly different from the actual item. Thank you for your understanding.
