●About the DO
The DO is a piece of kendo equipment that protects the torso. It consists mainly of two parts: the dodai (the body panel that receives strikes) and the domune (the upper chest piece made of leather).
This is a simple and standard-type DO suitable for both practice and competition.
The Dodai (main body panel) is made from a Standard black-colored resin.
The mune (chest piece) is made of genuine cowhide leather and features decorative cloud embroidery (kumogazari) and stitching. This model includes a “Hongumo S-shaped” cloud decoration – one of the most commonly used and visually striking designs.
Inside the cloud pattern, diagonal stitching is hand-applied by skilled craftsmen using dark navy thread.

●Maintenance
・After use, air-dry the Do in a well-ventilated, shaded area. The mune absorbs sweat and should be properly dried.
・As it is made of cowhide, the mune will naturally age and deteriorate over time. Even if unused, improper storage can cause the leather to dry and degrade.
・There are six chichikawa (leather loops) on the sides and top of the DO.
・The resin Do-Dai（main body） has a glossy finish, but repeated strikes will result in surface scratches and loss of shine over time.
