●Product Description
The SHINKI is a Kotō-style shinai crafted in an extremely slim shape, even among other Kotō types.
The grip diameter is approx. 24 mm (measured at the left hand position), making it one of the thinnest options for a 39-size men’s shinai.

This slim profile allows for exceptional maneuverability, making it easy to respond quickly to your opponent’s movements while still feeling the solid weight of the bamboo during strikes.

Because the bamboo is shaved to a slim, straight shape, it has thicker walls and less flex compared to standard shinai, resulting in a sharper, more direct swing.
Recommended for kendoka seeking a crisp, sharp-feeling swing with precise control.
This is a fully assembled shinai with a premium gingawa leather handle, ready for use.
*Please make sure to attach a tsuba (guard) before using the shinai for actual kendo practice.

●Reference: Typical Shinai Size & Weight
Size 38: 117 cm – Men: approx. 480 g | Women: approx. 420–440 g
Size 39: 120 cm – Men: approx. 510 g | Women: approx. 440 g
(Weights are approximate and may vary due to natural bamboo. Please note: 38-size women’s approx. 420 g is for high school girls’ division in Japan and cannot be used in general adult women’s competitions.)

●Care & Maintenance
・Store in a shinai case, away from moisture and direct sunlight.
・We recommend using both a shinai bag and the protective plastic cover provided at purchase.
・A tsuba (guard) and tsuba-dome (rubber stopper) are required for practice (sold separately).
・Check your shinai frequently during practice for splinters or cracks. Replace immediately if damage is found.
・Long-term storage may cause bamboo to dry, discolor, or become brittle. Avoid using an aged shinai.
・Over time, bamboo may dry out and slightly lose weight.
・The nakayui (leather tie) and tsuru (string) may loosen with use. Regular maintenance is recommended.
