With its center of balance closer to the hands, it offers easy handling and smooth, quick strikes.
Compared to standard Dobari models, the HAYATE features a slimmer overall profile and thinner grip, providing excellent maneuverability and responsiveness.
Available in sizes suitable for junior high, high school, and adult practitioners.

The name “HAYATE” means “the swift sound of the wind”, symbolizing speed and precision.

Neutral balance. The most common type, suitable for all levels.

Weight near the handle. Best for quick, fast strikes and competition.
・Koto Shinai
Weight is distributed across the whole shinai, centering toward the middle. Favored by experienced players for powerful, solid impact.

●Care & Maintenance
・Store in a shinai case, away from moisture and direct sunlight.
・We recommend using both a shinai bag and the protective plastic cover provided at purchase.
・A tsuba (guard) and tsuba-dome (rubber stopper) are required for practice (sold separately).
・Check your shinai frequently during practice for splinters or cracks. Replace immediately if damage is found.
・Long-term storage may cause bamboo to dry, discolor, or become brittle. Avoid using an aged shinai.
・Over time, bamboo may dry out and slightly lose weight.
・The nakayui (leather tie) and tsuru (string) may loosen with use. Regular maintenance is recommended.
