The Honryu Kanetsugu is a Kotō Style. The Solid Bio-Processed bamboo has increased strength, which will lead to powerful strikes.
・Koto Balance: The center-heavy balance allows you to feel the full weight, ensuring strong, solid strikes (datotsu).
・Ideal for high-level practice, tournaments, and examinations.
・Solid Construction: Made from Keichiku bamboo that is Solid Bio-Processed for enhanced durability and a deep brown color, providing a heavy, satisfying feel.
・Robust Look & Feel: The bamboo staves are shaved thicker (Ritsumenkezuri) for a substantial, powerful presence.
・Slim Grip (25mm): Features a slightly slimmer grip (25mm). Note: Choosing the optional Oval grip will make the grip feel even thinner in the hand.

・Standard Shinai
Neutral balance. The most common type, suitable for all levels.
・Dobari Shinai
Weight near the handle. Best for quick, fast strikes and competition.
・Koto Shinai
Weight is distributed across the whole shinai, centering toward the middle. Favored by experienced players for powerful, solid impact.

(Weights are approximate and may vary due to natural bamboo. Please note: 38-size women’s approx. 420 g is for high school girls’ division in Japan and cannot be used in general adult women’s competitions.)
●Care & Maintenance
・Store in a shinai case, away from moisture and direct sunlight.
・We recommend using both a shinai bag and the protective plastic cover provided at purchase.
・A tsuba (guard) and tsuba-dome (rubber stopper) are required for practice (sold separately).
・Check your shinai frequently during practice for splinters or cracks. Replace immediately if damage is found.
・Long-term storage may cause bamboo to dry, discolor, or become brittle. Avoid using an aged shinai.
・Over time, bamboo may dry out and slightly lose weight.
・The nakayui (leather tie) and tsuru (string) may loosen with use. Regular maintenance is recommended.

・Each kendo equipment and uniform brand follows its own design standards, so slight differences may exist even with the same size specifications.
