The KUNIYOSHI KORESAKU Kendo Shinai Series is highly regarded for its outstanding balance and superior craftsmanship.
Each piece is individually handcrafted in Japan, using carefully selected bamboo to achieve an ideal balance that meets the standards of both practice and competition.
This series is trusted by a wide range of kendoka — from youth players to top-level professionals.
The Solid Bio Special model features a Solid Bio treatment that enhances the bamboo’s strength while giving it a distinctive dark brown finish.
This process provides a firm, responsive feel with excellent durability.
In Japan, shinai with Solid Bio processing have become increasingly popular for both daily keiko (practice) and shiai (competition) use.
Each shinai bears the official “SSP” seal, certifying compliance with All Japan Kendo Federation standards.

Size 38: 117 cm – Men: approx. 480 g | Women: approx. 420–440 g
Size 39: 120 cm – Men: approx. 510 g | Women: approx. 440 g
(Weights are approximate and may vary due to natural bamboo. Please note: 38-size women’s approx. 420 g is for high school girls’ division in Japan and cannot be used in general adult women’s competitions.)
●Care & Maintenance
・Store in a shinai case, away from moisture and direct sunlight.
・We recommend using both a shinai bag and the protective plastic cover provided at purchase.
・A tsuba (guard) and tsuba-dome (rubber stopper) are required for practice (sold separately).
・Check your shinai frequently during practice for splinters or cracks. Replace immediately if damage is found.
・Long-term storage may cause bamboo to dry, discolor, or become brittle. Avoid using an aged shinai.
・Over time, bamboo may dry out and slightly lose weight.
・The nakayui (leather tie) and tsuru (string) may loosen with use. Regular maintenance is recommended.

・Each kendo equipment and uniform brand follows its own design standards, so slight differences may exist even with the same size specifications.
・Product color and texture may appear slightly different depending on your device and viewing environment.
