NAMI・JISSEN – Dobari Style Shinai
The NAMI・JISSEN is a Dobari-style shinai, featuring a balance point closer to the hands for smooth handling and easy control.
It comes fully assembled with the TOKO Tsuka grip leather, offering a comfortable and stable hold.
Made from Keichiku bamboo, this model provides excellent flexibility and a natural snap when striking.
Approved by the All Japan Kendo Federation (AJKF) with the official SSP seal, making it suitable for tournaments.
The name “NAMI” means wave, representing smooth, flowing motion and power.

●Shinai Styles
・Standard Shinai
Neutral balance. The most common type, suitable for all levels.
・Dobari Shinai
Weight near the handle. Best for quick, fast strikes and competition.
・Koto Shinai
Weight is distributed across the whole shinai, centering toward the middle. Favored by experienced players for powerful, solid impact.

Size 38: 117 cm – Men: approx. 480 g | Women: approx. 420–440 g
Size 39: 120 cm – Men: approx. 510 g | Women: approx. 440 g
(Weights are approximate and may vary due to natural bamboo. Please note: 38-size women’s approx. 420 g is for high school girls’ division in Japan and cannot be used in general adult women’s competitions.)
●Care & Maintenance
・Store in a shinai case, away from moisture and direct sunlight.
・We recommend using both a shinai bag and the protective plastic cover provided at purchase.
・A tsuba (guard) and tsuba-dome (rubber stopper) are required for practice (sold separately).
・Check your shinai frequently during practice for splinters or cracks. Replace immediately if damage is found.
・Long-term storage may cause bamboo to dry, discolor, or become brittle. Avoid using an aged shinai.
・Over time, bamboo may dry out and slightly lose weight.
・The nakayui (leather tie) and tsuru (string) may loosen with use. Regular maintenance is recommended.

・Each kendo equipment and uniform brand follows its own design standards, so slight differences may exist even with the same size specifications.
・Product color and texture may appear slightly different depending on your device and viewing environment.
