RYO Genuine Aizome Pre-Washed Hakama Series
Authentic 100% cotton Kendo Hakama dyed with genuine Shō-Aizome (natural indigo), offering a perfect balance of traditional style and modern comfort.
Each Hakama is pre-washed to remove stiffness, reduce initial color fading, and minimize shrinkage.
Beautiful mid-pleat stitching ensures the pleats stay neat during intense movement.
・#7000 Model: Made with medium-lightweight and soft fabric, offering excellent breathability and flexibility. Ideal for daily Keiko (practice) and all-season use.
・#10000 Model: Crafted from dense, thick cotton for a refined and formal appearance. The fabric’s weight and drape give a dignified look, perfect for competitions and promotion exams.
Experience the comfort of modern craftsmanship while preserving the elegance of traditional indigo-dyed Hakama.
●Maintenance
・Wash with cold water or mild non-fluorescent detergent. Hand washing is recommended.
・After washing, align the pleats and dry in the shade in a well-ventilated area to preserve shape.
・Avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight, which may cause fading or deterioration. Short drying periods (1–2 hours) are acceptable, but never leave it out for multiple days.
・When hand-washing, lay the hakama flat and gently press-wash to maintain the pleats and structure.
・As the material is cotton, slight shrinkage may occur. If you notice shrinkage, gently stretch the fabric and dry it in the shade.
・Do not use a dryer under any circumstances.
・Due to the properties of natural indigo dye, color transfer and fading are expected. Please avoid over-washing to remove dye completely. The gradual fading and character of the color over time are part of the traditional aizome aesthetic.
●Notes
・Each Kendo equipment and uniform brand manufactures its products based on its own unique design philosophy and standards.
Therefore, even if the size specifications are the same, there may be slight differences in details such as the thickness of the men-shin (inner padding of the helmet), the shape of the do (chest protector), the length of the kote (gloves), or the overall fit of each uniform.
・Due to differences in devices and viewing environments, the color and texture of the product may appear slightly different from the actual item. Thank you for your understanding.
